The book is filled with rich historical facts starting with the bloody struggles between the Unionists and the Republicans in northern Ireland and culminating in the disarmament of the IRA. While much of the world has viewed the IRA as the sole instigator of years of vicious terrorism, Llywelyn proves through numerous historical facts that the British government along with the Unionists in the north were equally guilty of constant and numerous crimes.

I'm a big fan of Llywelyn's writing, but I was disappointed in this latest book, finding it too rambling and the characters too flat.

Amazon request error #400Based on an ancient Irish fairly tale, Connla of the Fiery Hair follows a beautiful, magical woman to a land of paradise where he learns that even paradise has its price. A short, enjoyable read. Like many of Llywelyns books, it's lamentable that books like these are simply categorized as "Fantasy" and go out of print so quickly, when in fact they do so much to help preserve Irish culture and history.

Covering an array of books ranging from fiction to biography to travel and more, Llywelyn offers not only good reviews of her subjects, but also provides a running synopsis that educates you in each area. Just about everyone will find at least a couple of books that they'll want to get and read from her list.
