Story of a man who time travels back to the year 999 in Scottland. Although the book is a good read, it is flawed with characters who need more depth and a tad more realism. Published by TimeDancer Press.

Amazon request error #400Story of 16th century Scottland. I had difficulty with Dunnet's writing style and haven't read her other books in the same series. She is a well regarded author, but I just didn't enjoy her work.
Time Period : 16th century
Amazon request error #400The main characters are three college students set in modern time, but the story branches into several sub-stories of historical interest. Each of these stories is well done, however the author has a Christian religious bent that strays near the line of preaching in several spots.
Time Period : 397 to 1320
Amazon request error #400Journeys of a young Viking boy from England to Dublin to Scotland. Billed as 'childrens' book, it is enjoyable for all ages.

A self-published, historical novel set in Scotland. Rome is attempting to extend its boundaries northward in England and subdue the native Cruithne. The book covers the detailed lives of a Roman general and his captured slave. At times I thought some of the wording was a bit awkward, but the story more than made up for it. Available from the author's site.
