Irish Punk Music

Recently, I've been listening to a subsegment of music that I guess would be best called Irish Punk or perhaps Celtic Punk. Shane MacGowan, formerly of The Pogues, is perhaps the most popular example of Irish punk. Most typically the music has the driving sound and raw vocals of punk music mixed with some traditional celtic instruments and tunes.

if you're interested in that sort of music a really good website, and an online radio station, is www.shitenonions.com they cover tons of irish punk bands. they sell some cd's and have links to tons of bands. check it out. some of my favorites are the pogues, blood or whiskey, st. bushmills choir, the dolomites(their old stuff), the peelers, neck, and the real mckenzies -anarchofiddler
